My Story

Personal

Aggie Football Game

I am the oldest of four siblings and was raised in a military family. Attending Texas A&M, I received my B.A. in History before going on to obtain a Master in Health Administration at the Texas A&M Health Science Center. During my time in graduate school, I was blessed to meet my wife of nine years.

Experience

I have served two years on the Wylie City Council in Place 2 where I have worked to bring fiscal responsibility, transparency, accountability and smart economic growth to Wylie.

My educational background and work in healthcare administration has uniquely prepared me to serve as mayor. Extensive financial training has provided me with the tools necessary to be able to decipher the complex CAFR statement and understand proper budgeting.

Service

Matthew with CatsMy desire to serve has led me to becoming involved in animal rescue:

  • Volunteer foster of cats and kittens – saved over 150 lives
  • Adoption counselor assisting those looking for a new best friend
  • Current adoption partner with Wylie Petsmart
